What will the students study during Key Stage 3?

During these two years all students follow a common curriculum designed to build a sound basis for future study and to develop knowledge, understanding and abilities in all subject area.

q       Much of the work covered in Middle Schools is built on and extended.

q       New subjects are introduced and important social skills are developed

q       Towards the end of Year 9, GCSE examination courses are chosen.

At the end of Key Stage, students take Government Standard Assessment Tasks (SATs) in the core subjects.

In English and Mathematics, particularly in Year 8, special emphasis is placed on developing students’ literacy and numeracy skills. We review the Key Stage 3 curriculum annually to ensure that it continued to meet the needs of our students.
