Languages

In Year 8 all students study French. A second language is offered when options are chosen at the end of Year 9.

All students follow the AQA GCSE syllabus.

q       The languages are taught in ‘topic’ areas and students are assessed at the end of each topic.

q       Students are encouraged to use the language actively in the classroom.

q       Homework is set after each lesson.

Any student who speaks a language other than English at home and has reached examination level may be able to take a GCSE in that language at Tamworth Manor.
