Science

Through a knowledge of Science, we aim to help students to thrive in today’s technological society.

 Practical experiments, demonstrations, discussions, mini-debates and formal learning are all used to enable students to understand scientific principles and to form measured opinions about the world.

During Years 8 & 9 students study the National Curriculum Targets:

q       Materials

q       Living Processes and Physical Processes.

  Practical skills are developed through experimental work and tested by full-scale investigation.

  Techniques of planning, performing and evaluating investigations give students further insight into scientific process.

  During Key Stage 4, all students follow the Double Certification science course which is comprised of modules tested by AQA examination board at regular intervals.
